About JO

Jo Standing is a published author centered in the value of raw and real interpersonal sharing. She is a seasoned decade plus yoga and self-empowerment classroom facilitator, and an everyday spiritual warrior. She is a Certified Professional Coach through Rhodes Wellness College in Vancouver, Canada and has trained closely with Doctors around the country since 2017 in body-based trauma resolution.

Jo is passionate about the growth that is intrinsic in the Post Traumatic Stress experience and sharing it with all trauma survivors who are in search of inspiration and knowledge. She has taught personal wellness for over 10,000 hours since Spring 2005 to groups around North America. In 2017, she traveled 37,500 miles by Jeep around the USA with the effort to bolster the well-being of our country's warriors in uniform with lively, humorous, and in-depth talks called Shift Mode available at her Instagram blog.

As the daughter of an Army Veteran who mostly raised her strength is not just a word. It is a way of being. Jo thinks the inner wounds of a warrior are not meant to be stuffed-away but rather used as signposts to live a full and rewarding life. She believes the knowledge of how to recover the self after trauma is everyone’s birthright. Her Post Traumatic Growth, and Yoga, work has been the subject of published articles for many years including in Natural Awakenings Magazine, USA TODAY magazine, and Elephant Journal. She has been written about in Huff Post by Dr. Felicia Clark and on Dr. Kristie Overstreet’s podcast series.

She offers online and in person workshops, classes, and trainings. She is also a participant in speaking engagements that are geared toward being empowered through pain as we collectively shift as a society toward the doctor-recognized state of Post Traumatic Growth.

TESTIMONIALS

Jo is sensitive and understands people in a deep way and her passion shows this. Through coaching with her, she’s helped me to see the bigger picture. Her openness and her willingness to accept me as I am has HELPED ME SHIFT and allowed me to work through my blocks around relationships. I found the process to be very rewarding because it’s not often that you get to look at things with someone and then to put them back in a logical way in your head, that brings both understanding and serenity. That’s a gift. Thanks, Jo!

Jo has an infectious positive attitude and unbridled enthusiasm. Jo was clear and focused and set forth the information in our coaching session with a natural flow that produced results reflective of my intention. I was able to narrow my range of goals and related action to enable the most succinct path forward.

Over the last couple of years I’ve loved attending Jo’s yoga classes! She is truly uniquely-unique! She always gives much more than the asanas. I am forever grateful for having met her. Her non-judgmental spirit is just wonderful!

Jo is an amazing person, true to herself and life. Her story is as inspirational and heartfelt as they come. She is a shining example of how to overcome as she sucks the marrow out of life itself.
— Michael Hodge | United States Quantico-trained Marine Corps
In Jo’s wellness workshop, we received a mind-cleansing process that cleared stress and energy blockages. I felt very calm and at peace by the end of the breathing exercises taught, the guided writing exercises, and the group sharing cycles that we were encouraged to contribute to at our own pace. It was inspiring to me to see the community partaking in such a great class right inside my store! She led us based on our individual writing, and listening, needs. Her class is a healing in and of itself.

I had the pleasure to meet the author as a fellow speaker at Harvard University. The passion she has towards her work for PTSD has moved me. She is not only an amazing soul but her vast knowledge and encounter with PTSD, which is so eloquently applied in her book, is absolutely beneficial for all who seek healing. The term “CONQUER” is exactly what she will bring to you with this book. And, “Get Your Life Back”, is exactly what you will achieve.
